I know everyone in my family is a pack rat. In fact, we seem to have a competition going of who can inherit the most.

Recently I woke up and asked myself, what am I doing??
Has anyone else gotten bit by the neatness bug or gone tidy bowel? Where and how did you begin?

Could you recomend a metal detector to me- I was reading some cost over 1,000 dollars and I just don’t have that kind of money so preferably something affordable but also of good quality.

I ask this because it seems likely that a man as creative as walt disney would have hidden something in his themepark, he seems to have a great interest in adventure and pirates etc. so it wouldnt be to far fecthed to imagine he hid some great tresure somewhere in that themepark. Has anyone heard anything similar to this? after all he was into secret societies and he had his secret club 33 and hidden mickeys throughout the park.

Buried Treasure Gamow’s Tombstone?
Filed Under Mathematics | 1 Comment
Scythian1950 asked:
man discovers a treasure map, which gives instructions to a buried treasure. Starting at Gamow’s tombstone in a remote cemetery, he is to measure the distance from it to a huge old oak tree, then make a perfect right turn, and continue for the same distance, and mark the spot A. Starting again from the same tombstone, he is to measure the distance from it to a tall old palm tree, then make a perfect left turn, and continue for the same distance, and mark the spot B. The buried treasure is halfway between A and B. As he begins digging, a passerby asks him what he is doing, and then tells him that kids have moved the tombstone about 20 feet—he doesn’t remember where it used to be. What is the maximum distance the buried treasure could be from where the man is digging? Let’s assume that the distances to the trees are greater than 20 feet., and the trees are exactly 100 feet apart.
Vasek, you just know that I’m going to choose yours as Best Answer, right?
Okay, it’s time to close out this question. This puzzler is actually a slight variation of one devised by George Gamow of Big Bang fame a long time ago.

Buried Treasure?

Casey asked:
I live in an old house dating back to the 1800’s. My stepmom was digging to plant a flower and she came across an old bowl. It was chipped and broken, but was beautifully painted. Ever since then we have been digging like crazy. We’ve found coins from the 1940’s, plates, cups, tons of old apothecary jars, and many other things. After digging for a while we discovered a pattern. The top layer is mostly bricks, followed by seashells, and ashes. I have also realized that there are many nuts buried also. Any idea where this stuff came from od why it was there? Was it normal for people living in the 1800’s to the 1950’s to bury their stuff?
